The fêtes des moissons (harvest festival) takes place in Provins during the last week end of August. It is a heritage of the great fairs of Champagne that were taking place in the town every year.
A large funfair is located in the center of the upper town. Folk dancing and a parade of decorated floats give this event a very nice ambiance.
This view was taken on the Chatel Square which was very busy at the time. The Dôme is one of the inns located on this square. Another one, the Hostellerie de la Croix D'Or, the oldest inn still operating in France. It was built in the 13th century.
