A view taken during a nice morning in the Massif du Sancy. I call this type of mountainous areas "montagne à vaches" which means cow mountains. These are typical of the Massif Central where the highest areas are around 1500m (4500 ft) and are devoid of forests because they are permanently grazed by cows our sheep. In the Massif du Sancy where this photo was taken, they are also the home of mouflon sheep and chamois.
