Les Invalides were built in the 17th century to treat wounded soldiers. The church Saint Louis des Invalides and its massive Dôme were completed in 1735. At that time they were considered as the most beautiful church in Paris. The ashes of Napoleon were relocated in this building in 1861.
To get a nice view of the Invalides at night, it is preferable to go to the back of the buidling. It is what I dit here. I managed to get the Eiffel tower in the frame as a bonus.
