The Carreau du Temple

The Carreau du Temple is an old market located near the Boulevard du Temple in the 3rd arrondissement. This place was built in the mid 18th century, mostly in metal and originally used for the annual "Foire de Paris".It is now a half abandoned clothing market (I have never seen it more than 10% full) and would have been destroyed by real estate agents, had it not been declared a Monument of Interest in 1982. This photo shows the stalls of the merchants on the back of the market.
