Flooded!

These boats are always in this area of Paris, in front of the small "Square du Vert Galant". What's unusual is the level of the water. Every winter or so, Paris gets a more or less serious flood. In the winter of 1999-2000, the water was well above this level and the little garden on the right was totally under water. The boats you see here were actually above the level of the quay and their owners had to use makeshift footbridges to reach them.
