| One of the largest parks inside Paris, the Jardin des Tuileries, was once inside a palace adjoining the Louvre. The building was set on fired in 1871, burned entirely and the resulting ruins were finally destroyed in 1882. This, opened an unbroken view from the Louvre to the Arc de Triomphe (and now the Arch of La Défense). The gardens themselves were already there are now one of the favorite walks of parisians. The Jardins des Tuileries offer numerous photographic opportunities with both classic and modern sculptures, large basins, flowerbeds, a number of wild birds, especially in winter, and a good view on the Concorde square. |
