| The cathedral Notre Dame de Paris is undoubtedly one of the most impressive examples of roman architecture in France. It is massive yet elegant, imposing, yet very finely carved. As most cathedrals it is always under work. Major restoration work on the western facade have been completed in early 2006. As the last scaffoldings have been removed, the cathedral now looks as if it had just been completed. The facade and the southern side are the most photogenic either at night or during the day.
