A statue of Virgin Mary in a dark corner of Notre Dame de Rocamadour church, near the choir. Note the soft lighting coming from the right.
There are at least two different opinions on the name of that church. Some say that it comes from the fact that it was a stop for the pilgrims going to the black virgin shrine at Rocamadour (Lot). Others find a celtic origin to that name. Roc meaning rock and dour meaning water, the complete name would mean "a rock in the middle of the water".
