Notre Dame de Rocamadour interior

This chapel has a rather lively history. A first building dedicated to Notre Dame de Rocamadour was built in Camaret in 1183. It was then damaged and rebuilt a number of times in the 16th and 17th century. It burnt entirely in 1910 and its inside was restored from scratch at that time.
Numerous models of boats ornate the inside of the church. They were traditionally offered by the sailors before leaving for long fishing campaigns.
