| Champagne is a region located east of Paris, in fact between Paris and eastern France. Its landscapes are a bit like the ones of Brie: large flat cultivated fields and small valleys or elevations, covered with woodland or dense vegetation. There is an important difference with Brie, however: in some areas, the slopes of every hill is covered with vineyards. Wine is omnipresent in Champagne, as is its rich history. The region had a prosperous economy in the past, holding fairs in a series of towns like Meaux, Troyes, Bar sur Aube. As we now live in the suburbs, east of Paris, we have an easier access to the northern part of Champagne. |
