This statue represents Anne de Montmorency. It may seem quite bizarre, but this person was actually not a woman but a soldier who fought alongside François 1er at Marignan and was later named constable of France. Anne de Montmorency made modifications to the original medieval castle and built a series of chapels in the town of Chantilly.
The statue is on a large esplanade at the back of the castle.
